ABOUT US

STEVE GWIN earned Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Actuarial Science degrees from the University of Michigan.  He pursued an actuarial career, becoming a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.  He held positions of increasing responsibility in Group Insurance, Health Insurance, and Market Development at American United Life Insurance Co, National Life & Accident Insurance Co., Kentucky Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Capital Holding/Providian/ AEGON/Transamerica (name changes and mergers).  Steve had extensive experience dealing with state regulations and regulators, and in working with sales leaders on product design and sales materials.  Steve was involved in every phase of the reverse mortgage business, from investments, modelling, and regulation, to the sales video and sales force.   
 
 
BILL PHILLIPS has a B.A. in Chemistry/Physics from Haverford College, a M.S. in Geochemistry from Cal Tech, and a B.A. in Music from the University of Louisville.  He held positions of increasing responsibility at Occidental Life Insurance Co. and Capital Holding/Providian/AEGON/Transamerica, becoming a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.  Bill had extensive experience in Marketing as well as IT and Financial Reporting.  In addition to leading product development, Bill found ways to increase value by using sales force compensation, underwriting, and product mix to improve the quality of sales, reduce administrative expenses, and drastically cut policy turnover.  After helping to create a new investment division, he started the reverse mortgage “skunk works” and subsequent business line.
